Old Lady Chats
An old lady just looking for joy wherever and however she can find it. Let's look for joy together!
Who am I?
Well, I am a southern girl, child of God, wife of my very best friend and love of my life, and daughter of a 90-plus year old Mama who is now almost completely blind. I am in my late 60's, my husband and I have been married for 36 years, and we don't have any children.
I enjoy cooking, crafting, reading, and watching TV, especially HGTV, Food Network, and one of my favorite shows ... The Curse of Oak Island!
My husband and I own an RV and we love traveling as much as possible, but my elderly Mama and the Covid situation have slowed that down ... a LOT!

Right now I am enjoying my tiny screened porch. It is almost 6' x 10', so quite small, and I have the two screened walls covered with plastic to help keep it warm this winter. I 'shopped' my house' and came up with an infrared heater, small television, Amazon Fire Stick, and electric throw blanket that I already had. I spend most every day and evening out here. The only times it's too cold is when wind is added to the already cold air. It's just too much to be comfortable.
I am one of those people who needs ... yes NEEDS ... sunshine. If we have gray weather too many days in a row my attitude gets gray too! Just a few minutes of sunshine coming through my windows helps a lot. So because of this, I am constantly looking for something to do that makes me happy. One of my favorite ways to lighten my mood is to watch the bird feeders on my back deck. A few years ago we enlarged our deck from 10' long to 20' long, and I had the guy that did the work add a rod from end to end for a place to put my feeders. I love it!
I would love it if you would join me on life's journey. I'll be talking about all kinds of things, but all conversations MUST be positive and encouraging. We are here to share joy, after all!
